Review by hotel critic
Rothay Garden in Cumbria offers a truly family-friendly experience for travelers, including our recent stay for my husband's 60th birthday. Upon arrival, the check-in was swift, marked by the charming demeanor of Angelica, who provided us with useful local insights. Our room was comfortable, equipped with robes and slippers for family convenience. The hotel serves an impressive breakfast and dinner; we particularly enjoyed a memorable evening meal in the cozy restaurant. It felt like a homely gathering rather than just dining out. Beyond the hotel, we explored the stunning surroundings that boast an array of attractions. Our family visited Beatrix Potter's Hilltop, which captivated our children's imaginations, while the leisurely lake cruise on Coniston Water allowed for quality family bonding amidst picturesque landscapes. Rothay Garden managed to create a welcoming environment that balanced relaxation with family exploration, making it an ideal destination for those seeking to enjoy nature and history together. I look forward to returning with my family.
